RPGds is a RPG game creator and has a single primary purpose:
to allow you to create your own RPGs. The software is extremely
flexible; it provides you with a scripting engine for programming
and a rendering engine to display your graphics, sounds, and
so forth, and you design the game from scratch. RPGds provides
the necessities, allowing you the freedom of creating your own
game. That is the primary difference between RPGds and a game
maker like RPG Maker 2000. RPGds is a fat more advanced RPG
maker than RPG Maker 2000, letting you go much more into detail
on how your RPG will play. You decide the menu system. You design
the monsters, how they work, what statistics they have, if any,
and so forth. RPGds is so flexible that you must have a good
idea of what you want to do, and it can take some time to get
a good skeletal start for your game. But the power it allows
you as a game designer is ultimately worth the cost.
