Video Game School 5 is a game that tells you about the Sega Dreamcast, the Playstation 2, the X-box and the Nintendo Gamecube, and their games. Your objective is to learn as much as possible for the future systems. New: Your character will live in a apartment room in a dorm. You will be able to go to parties and other players room. Your room will include a TV with the channel G4TV and Game Channel. The game channel allows you to play any game on the channel, depending on the console you have in the room. You get to choose what console you want at the beginning of the game. You can play "your" games on it.
You can choose from up to 20 characters, 4 from each console and 1 from a game available for more than one console, as your character and choose their costume or colors they wear.
In this game, you will be at the college, you were at in Video Game School 4 or go to another college, and learn about video games made for Nintendo Gamecube, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2, X-box, or all. You can walk down the hallways in a 3-D environment school. You can play it on-line and take the real classes of the game with real classmates(users) and get in trouble with the adults and classmates.
You can choose between public or private colleges. The public colleges talks about all games, the private colleges take about only a game series, like Mario College and Virtua College, and Tekken College talk about a genre of games, like Madden College amd NBA Live College.
Each subject is similar to real life subjects. For example,
Social Studies: Learn about the history of video games.
Math: Learn how to make video games and combine video game ideas.
Science: Learn about what video games are made of.
Language: Learn how to comprehend what to do in a game.
Physical Education: Learn how to play video games with fast button combinations. Also, you can play sport games.
Lunch Time: Play video games you are learning about.
Electives Music: Learn how to make music in video games.
Art: Learn how to draw sprites and animation in video games.
Computer: Learn about the machines and video game systems made for video games.
Library: It have lots of books, manuals, and codebooks on the video games you are learning about.
Hand-on: Learn and play video games for the Gameboy Advance (SP) and the Nokio N-Gage.
(New) On-line: Play and learn about the video games that are played online for a console. The class can enter you into tournament, if you are good enough.
(New) Special: Play and learn about the video games made for the Phantom console and the console. In the class, you can take field trips to other colleges.
Each college has more electives, but different ones, like GameShark class, Mortal Kombat class, and Final Fantasy class.
You will take quizs, tests, and exams on video games. You can make friends on-line that will help you in the classes. (New): You can live in the same room as another player. If you try to wake up that player, the player will get an instant message, if the player is on-line, or a message in there account.
Your college will compete in sports against other colleges. Each college has 4 teams in baseball, basketball, soccer, fighting, racing and football; each team uses a different console style. You must be one of the top players to play on the teams. You can come to the games for free, when they are schedule. There will be tournaments and seasons for the best school in each sport. You can get promote to future games' teams from these teams. New: The results of each game will be announce in the dorm and on G4TV.
The colleges will compete with other colleges in a game, like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.
At the end of the game, you must save the game for the next game. This is the 2nd year of college, so prepare for the 3rd year of college, which includes the Playstation 3 and X-box 2.
