Theorizing that one could time travel within his own lifetime, Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the quantum leap accelerator and vanished. He awoke to find himself trapped in the past, facing mirror images that were not his own, and driven by an unknown force to change history for the better. His only guide on this journey is Al and observer from his own lifetime that only Sam can see and hear and so, Dr. Beckett finds himself leaping from life to life striving to put right what once went wrong and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.
Sam "Leaps" from different people's lives to try to fix tragic situations. For example, If someone originally died in the past, Sam's misson would be to prevent that. Al Calivicci is a person who appears to Sam as a hollagram that helps him with his missions. Once Sam accomplishes his goal, he leaps into someone elses life to try to make their lives better. I would strongly suggest viewing a few episodes of the show before making a decision. This will help you get the complete concept. Quantum leap has a huge fan base with sites all over the internet and reruns on the sci fi channel. This game would be a huge seller.
