NEXUS

Story
The storyline for this game needs some help, so feel free to be brutal with your comments. You play as Eva Blue, a scientist working at the Nexus. The Nexus is a building in the year 2150 that supplies the world with electricity using Dihelium oxide (aka "liquid lightning"). Liquid lightning is created through a fusion process that binds extra helium atoms to oxygen, forcing the resulting molecules into a liquid state. Each molecule produces enough energy to power New York City for six hours, so naturally a jar of this liquid would be worth more than Bill Gates.

NOTE: The user error404 has pointed out that Dihelium Oxide is an impossible compound due to the fact that helium does not bond. However, stripping both helium atoms of one electron would allow them to bond. Therefore, Dihelium Oxide is an ion, not a compound. Glad we got that cleared up.

Anyway, one day a team of SWAT-looking guys break into the Nexus to steal some of the liquid lightning, and Eva is caught in the middle of the combat. She falls into a vat of the stuff, and is rushed to the emergency room. The next week, she wakes up and returns to her apartment, only to discover she's gained extraordinary abilities!

Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to Devil May Cry 2, with some major exceptions due to Eva's enhancement. Liquid lightning has fused with her blood stream, giving her access to the following:

- The Suit -- The liquid lightning in her body feeds off of her bio-energies [see below] to create a liquid suit around her skin. This suit is required for the following abilities.

- Heightened Reflexes -- At the touch of a button, the game's action slows down to bullet-time speed, enabling the character to react quicker and look oh-so-much cooler.

- Increased Healing Capabilities -- By holding a different button, the character can increase their healing capacity, quickly restoring lost health and stopping blood loss (yes, the character bleeds when injured, like in Metal Gear Solid 2)

- Claws -- A third button unleashes wolverine-like claws on each hand (two of each), which can be used in melee combat and to block bullets when in bullet-time.

- Darts -- The suit can fire microscopic darts from its fingertips. These darts enter through the targets pores, dealing no damage, but instead clotting the blood. This cuts off oxygen to damaged appendages, making them limp and useless.

NOTE: User TheNewMan complained that the darts were useless because they had to enter an injured opponent. To clarify, this was not my intent, as the darts are designed to enter through pores, not wounds. They're a stealth weapon used for silent takedown from a distance to avoid confrontation. Also, the darts operate on a separate button than the melee attack button, so no mid-fight weapon switch is necessary.

- Increased Abilities -- This ability allows Eva to run faster, jump higher, and perform new moves she would otherwise be incapable of.

- Bioenergy -- Whenever any of the suit's abilities are used, they deplete Eva's bio-energy meter. When all energy is expended, the suit begins to draw on Eva's health until she dies. However, the suit can draw out bioenergy from other lifeforms by drawing their blood, replenishing the bio-energy meter.

NOTE: Thanks goes out to TheNewMan again for pointing out that the game would be more exciting if the character died from running out of bio-energy.

Stages: UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Few thoughts: The suit: why would liquid lightning create a METAL suit around the person? Perhaps simply have the scientist create the gadgets and have non-gadget like things an organic basis. eg make the claws extending toughened bone while the darts are a gadget. On the subject of darts: will the player really want to switch weapons mid-fight? If it only works on wounded people, likely it will never be used. Perhaps take the bio-energy a step further: should the character ever run out of bio-energy, they die. Perhaps have the levels dropping very slowly all the time, forcing the character to constantly seek out foes to kill and suck the bioenergy from. That might make it more intense. Anyway, a few thoughts, enjoy.

Dihelium oxide, by modern science is entirely impossible. Helium cannot bond. If you want to make a cool sounding name, don't use realistic atomic structures.

Wow those are some harsh critics. I do like this idea just cuz it sounds cool and it's my type of game. But no i'm not some mindless action-monger. Perhaps dihelium oxide is an impossible concept as our friend above has pointed out, but it's still cool. Sure i'm not so fond of the darts either, but it's ur game idea and alot of games that get made are made without any input from people and they still turn out fine. Your game sounds a bit like PN 03. Comments: change the claws to be finger blades like Lady Deathstrike of X-men, and use the bioenergy as a means to activate cool powers-perhaps psionics or something. First of all the gameplay sounds very cool but where the character is fighting? I think because the game is set on future the character must fight in unique places. Also the bad guys must have some future-weapons.Some bosses would be a nice idea. The story needs some work....I could give some ideas but not from here.Read my ideas Devil may cry 3 and A hero's Life or Future Speed and give me your opinion.

I found nothing that even remotely realted to a plot in this idea. All I read was that this Liquid Lightning was infused with her blood, performed in the ER or some Experimental Lab of some kind. What is the purpose of the game? What is Eva trying to find, kill, etc. Is she trying to figure out what happened to her (figure out her past)? To me, it just sounds Metal Gear Solid but with an edge of complexity. I myself love games like this. I just need more of a plot to play off of (in order to get into the game). Please take these comments under consideration.
