The Sport: Leap Da Loop is an online sport to be played on computers or video game systems or whatever. The idea is Leap Da Loop is to leap through the loops to gain points. You can also grab the ball (there is a ball in each level) and throw the ball in to gain two points, or jump through the loop with the ball in hand to gain five points (a jump through without the ball is worth one). There is also at least one ‘power loop’ in each level which can give you anywhere from double to quadruple the normal points.
The Game
Courts: Every court is an enclosed area with ‘bounce pads’ located all over the place, a ball generally in the middle, and several loops located all around the court. The Bounce Pads are small little platforms that automatically bounce you really high in the air—kind of like a trampoline. The farther you fall, the higher the bounce will be, but this can be controlled. Your bounce will only increase if you press the jump button while bouncing. And each time you do this your “Bounce O Meter” goes up. The higher the Bounce O Meter is at the farther you bounce. And once the Bounce O Meter is filled up you can control it going up or down. Now, the floor, walls, and ceilings are always covered with some sort of destructive tissue. There are different kinds of walls and each repels you in different ways. The Goober Walls make you stick directly to them right away, so all of your Bounce O Meter juice is dried up instantaneously. The Electric Walls shock you severely and take off a lot of HP along with shocking out the ball from your hands (if it was in your hands to begin with). The Super Bounce Walls bounce you at amazing speeds, much more than normal bounce pads, and if you can’t regain control you end up bouncing too fast and destroying yourself. There are several other kinds of walls and those were just a few. Now for the balls; there are several different kinds of balls and there is always at least one ball in every court. There are Spike Balls, which do vicious damage and bounce to any person it is thrown at. Super Bounce Balls, which bounce 5x more than normal balls but break really quickly. Super Grip Balls, which are just plain easier to keep a hold of, and much more. And as for the loops, the loops are just general circular loops that are placed in different parts of the courts. Different loops might be worth different points and some may shift back and forth.
Equipment: The first and most basic form of equipment in Leap Da Loops is your Anti Gravity Boots. With these little babies you can move a little from side to side while jumping. Without these dealies you would have no control in the air whatsoever. The second piece of equipment is the booster rockets. These dealies are attached to various parts of your body and allows you to take a sudden thrust in one direction. The thrust is used as more of a dodge because the speed does not last long, but advantageous players will use it right before hitting a bounce pad to give them an added thrust. Your third piece of equipment is a Grapple Laser. This laser, when shot at an opponent, can be used to grab onto them and either hang from them, or to pull them closer to you—throwing them off balance. Or it can also be used on teammates to drag them to certain areas—saving them bouncing time. The last piece of equipment is an ‘air gun.’ This air gun can be used in either a big blast that must be recharged or a steady flow of air. This piece of equipment is used to throw other people off balance or to throw you back into balance. This is because when you shoot it, it projects air forward, which can throw an enemy off balance, but it also pushes you backward, so you can shoot yourself back to balance.
Final Words- This is just the bare meat of this idea and I think a lot could be added to it. Personally, I reread this and I would really love to play this game! It sounds to much different from the typical shooter, kill-everything-in-sight, or typical adventure game, find-the-key-for-the-next-dungeon sorta stuff. And I think a whole lot of stuff could be added to this game to just make it everlasting amusement. I think that things should be added every so often and allow people to download it. Things like No Grav Levels, No Bounce Pad levels (you then would have to use normal jumps, the air gun, and the Grapple Laser), Pinball Levels, and many other things. Weapons COULD be added to this game but I think it would be more fun and interesting trying to take people out without using weapons. Like knocking them into the walls with your Booster Rockets, or dragging them into dangerous objects with your Grapple Laser. I have never played this game before, as it hasn’t been made (and won’t be—sadly), but I am already addicted to the idea!
As a side note: Does anyone else find it humorous that a guy who names himself Bebop Da Bebop made a game idea called Leap Da Loops?
