This game idea starts with a story, along with a TI-34 calculator. One day, in 6th grade, which I am no longer in, my friend Ali and I made an amazing discovery. Now, on a TI-34 calculator, you can hold memory of multiple equations, which are scrolled through by pressing the up/down keys. One day, Ali came to me and told me about an odd phenomenon that had happened during math class. He had to calculate something for all multiples of 10. When he went to the first equation he made, by scrolling up, the numbers flicked before him in a strange pattern. Soon, we realized the potential of this magical instrument, which expanded into the appearance of calculator movies, as they are now known. Although there were many different types of movies, the infamous series called The Pi-Guy Chronicles were the most popular. And, this is what this game is about. An animation list of all the different weapons and other things were created, and this list, often called the Basicanim, is the base of this game. To make a huge, fighting or adventure movie, using pi as the main character.
There are 3 types of animating screens: the first one, being the original, where you only have a 1x11 animating screen. By 1x11 I mean one row of 11 blocks, not pixels. The screen should be on the right, with the keys of the calculator on the left. This way, the game doesnt differentiate from the original calculator motion pictures. The second type is the big screen one which is 4x44. Otherwise, this style isnt much different than the aforementioned one. The last type is a big leap, though. You can customize the screen to your liking, and the blocks are one fourth the size. The objects still take up the same size, but this way, the game allows smoother animation. The main objects used in animating are mathematical symbols. For example, if you alternate + and x while moving each frame one across, it resembles as spinning Chinese throwing star. A big example is my pikselo version of Super Mario Bros.. Super Mario is, of course, a pi symbol, the pipes are unit symbols, goombas are little E thingies, fireballs are degree signs, mushrooms are 2s, and whenever he kills something, his points are the exponent signs forming stuff like 200 or 100. All in all, this is a fantasy dream for amateur animators who cant get their hands on a good animation program.
P.S. For people who have TI-34 calculators, here is a treat. Type in each frame, then press =, then clear. After you finish, scroll up without looking, and then scroll down to play the movie. I call this one, Wakey Wakey.
