In Lethal Agent, you play as one of five specially trained government agents who are on the trail of a stolen space weapon named Aurora. Shooting scenes take place in a third person perspective so you can see some cool dodges, and some special scenes require you to tap buttons in a specific sequence to dodge shots or fight some mid-level and end-level bosses hand to hand. Think Dance Dance Revolution meets Time Crisis with a dash of The Matrix. Players choose from a cast of five Agents each armed with a different weapon. For Example, Lethal Agent Kaguya Shinomiya prefers to use a Desert Eagle .357 Magnum, while Lethal Agent Michael Schrier packs a rapid-fire M-16. While in a special bullet dodging session, the game slows down to Max Payne esque bullet time. This is when players must tap directional buttons in a set sequence to dodge the incoming rounds. If they miss on their timing or hit the wrong button they lose health. Hand to hand fighting is accomplished the same way, with timing the proper button strokes to block, dodge, and attack the opponent. As with dodging bullets, the player loses health if he makes a mistake during the sequence. In normal gunfight scenes, the player's character doesn't simply stand and duck behind the same cover. Instead, they will leap into the crossfire, and dive behind trees, cars, down stairs, into closing elevators, and out of high rise windows to escape enemy fire. This is also how the character moves between action scenes; by finding other places to hide and making narrow escapes from bombs, bullets, flamethrowers, etc. Bosses could include an attack helicopter, a martial arts warrior, and the final battle with the one responsible for the theft of Aurora, the sixth Lethal Agent. In the right programmers hands, Lethal Agent could be the next great gun game.
