Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
The main character of my game is a man named Joseph. He is a detective in modern New York. One day he and his partner, Cliff are assigned to a case in a warehouse. When they get there a black thing goes through Cliff, killing him. Outraged and frightened, Joseph runs from the place. No one believes him. But, he finds someone on the edge of town, who does. The woman,(who I will name Shiella)says she is a mystic. She tells him that his great-great-great(shiesh!)grandfather fought this beast(his name is Mor) in a physical form in the old west of South Dakota. He could't kill him though, as he died from cancer. She also says that she can send him back in time to right after his great-great-great grandfather died so he can finish he started(second he being his g-g-g gramps). Before he goes he gets a new outfit and these weapons: AK47 grenades pistol ingram dagger knives he clips to his boots
When he gets back to Shiella she gives him a wicked sword called Oblivion. Then, with a spell, poof! He's gone.
Along the way you face enimies like freaky looking bats, monkies, and spiders. That's because ghosts need to use the body of a dead animal, but only in the day.(I added that to make it more player friendly) It would have ulimited ammo because you would face a lot of enimies. There are no lives, so you start back in the last room you entered if you die. When night comes along you can sleep or talk to people in the town. You will have to gather information on Mor and different boss locations throughout the twelve towns in the game(you have to go town to town). You'll have to stay in a town until you gather enough information to find the boss. After all that, Mor himself.

You need to start giving a lot more thought to your game ideas. TITLES would be most welcome. And I think this was the plot to an Earthbound game they never released. And how exactly will you get more ammo for an AK-47 in the old west?

I think you missed something

Is DrmDiver1983 it? He didn't even look over all of my idea, he missed the unlimited ammo part. You're not gonna hurt my feelings.

Here's something to think about. No lives and no limit on ammo means NO challenge. No challenge, in my opinion, means NO GAME. How am I supposed to have fun with a game that stands no chance against the main character. Really, what are the reincarnated bodies of dead animals going to do against an AK47, or even a revolver for that matter? Do something to add to the challenge, and maybe expand on you story. Like what link is there, if any, between the hero and villain? What's in this western town that he needs to accomplish whatever diabolical scheme he's concocted? Expand on your idea more, put a little more thought into it. or to be blunt. WORK ON IT.

I appriciate that, but it felt a little toucy. I hope I didn't get you mad with my last comment. The unlimited ammo I could make an unlockable, and how about if when you die, you start off again with the health you previously had? I can add weapons made in the 1800's, and you need to find ammo for them, but I'm only going to get to edit it when I have the time. While you're waiting, maybe you could check out my game idea A Warrior's Return, that one's a lot better.

Well, I must agree with DrmDiver1983, this idea lacks quite a bit in creativity and thought. You make (dead)reincarnations of spiders and monkeys and other animals, but they ONLY COME OUT IN THE DAYTIME!? TO BE PLAYER FRIENDLY!? To who? 5-year olds? I know you said that you might make the unlimited ammo an unlockable, but you still need more to make this game more challenging.

Does anyone else wanna kill this idea? I know it's not great, but you people are getting the wrong idea. I put in unlimited ammo because he brought weapons from his time to the 1800's. DMC did that, and nobody complained about it.(that I know at least.) Two things about the enemies. A creature risen from the dead will have supernatural powers, and is going to take more than one or two hits to kill. They come out in the daytime for two reasons. One: to make it player friendly. I don't think a game has to be confined to people who are old enough to not be afraid of it. Two: I wanted Joseph to do most of his detective work at night.(I thought that was cool, but I guess I left that out.)Secondly some of the boss fights will occur at night. So I hope I've cleared up a few things and made everybody happy...good-bye.
