The title of my game is Murder Mania. (for Playstation 2)
Story:
In a world of brutality and truculence, a desire, confined in hatred, dominates mankind. Hence, a tournament is born. A tournament like no other; a fight to the death. Both man and monstrosity partake in such events; some for vengeance, most for the recognition. To rise above all others in a victorious manner is a dream for all, but a reality for one.
Characters:
Throughout this game, the player (you) partakes in a tournament featuring many horror film characters. The player will choose a character and attempt to win this tournament. An example of the characters featured in this game are as follows: Freddy Cougar (Nightmare on Elm Street) Jason (Friday the 13th) Chucky (Child’s Play) Michael Myers (Halloween) Leather Face (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Pennywise the Clown (Stephen King’s IT)
NOTE: There are many serial killers from many horror films; it would be practically impossible to name them all. The list above is just an example, I assure you there will be many more characters featured. Gameplay:
Murder Mania is quite similar to most fighting games, as it will feature many diverse and discrete fighting arenas. Each character possesses their own unique fighting style, weapon, and reason for participating in the tournament (vengeance, recognition, tournament prize, etc.).
LIFE BAR- A battle is won after either one of the opponets’ Life Bars are completely empty. The 'Life Bar' measures how much more of a beating the particular player can withstand. After each hit the player receives, a portion of their Life Bar will decrease. The amount at which the player's Life Bar decreases is determined by how well they are hit. NOTE: Life Bars are presented horizontally across the top of the screen, accompanied by the character’s name beside each.
Gameplay Modes:
Practice Mode: The player can practice their selected character’s moves, and become accustom to their fighting style, here. The player is accompanied by a single, randomly selected, CPU opponent; once a Practice Arena is entered. In this mode, the player can view move lists, enable the CPU opponent stand motionless, guard, jump, crouch, or attack; all to practice a variety of fighting techniques.
Story Mode: The player will select a single character to battle the rest of the characters featured. If the opposing character is defeated, the player will progress to a new fighting arena to battle, yet again, another character (but with a higher level of difficulty). One by one, the player will engage in deadly combat, until he/she reaches the tournament’s ultimate fighter (whichever character that might be). After each battle is won, a movie stream will play; featuring the player's selected character, presenting them with a story behind the character’s history and why they are competing in the tournament. Also, pre-fight dialogue is included, for dramatic effect. NOTE: Story Mode does not allow the player to fight more than one character at a time in a single arena.
Multiplayer Modes: Multiplayer modes allow multiple players to compete against one another in a single arena.
•Versus -(Player 1 vs. Player 2)- Player 1 and Player 2 each select a character, competing against one another in a single arena. •Team Tournament -(Player 1 and Player 2 vs. two randomly selected CPU characters)- Player 1 and Player 2 each select a character, assisting one another in battle against two randomly selected CPU opponents. •'Champion' -(all players vs. all players)- Player 1 and Player 2 each select a character, competing against one another and two CPU opponents of their choice. Player 1 and Player 2 will not only be fighting against each other and the CPU opponents, as the two CPU opponents will fight against each other and both Player 1 and Player 2 as well; every man for himself. The last player remaining is suitably titled "champion" of the match.
Demonstration of 'Champion':
Player 1 vs. Player 2, CPU #1, CPU #2 Player 2 vs. Player 1, CPU #1, CPU #2 CPU #1 vs. Player 1, Player 2, CPU #2 CPU #2 vs. Player 1, Player 2, CPU #1
Inventory: In this mode, the player may view the selected character’s inventory and equip any accessible weapon for them (NOTE: some weapons may be inaccessible, thus they must be unlocked - see ‘Unlockables’). Some characters have special formats. For instance, some fighters can use two weapons at one time, etc.
Options: Listed below are various game options, in which the player can alter.
Difficulty- Set CPU difficulty to Novice, Intermediate, Expert, or Champion. Gore Level- Turn blood/gore settings on or off. Controls- The player may view and edit game controls to their liking. Music Volume- Set the volume of game music. Effects Volume- Set the volume of game sound effects. Bios- View biographies, move lists, and statistics, as well as a certain unlockable feature (see ‘Unlockables’) for all the characters. Data- Load, Save, or Erase data from the memory card.
Button Configuration:
Use D-pad for directional movement SQUARE- jump TRIANGLE- crouch CIRCLE- kick X- punch/use weapon R1- holster/arm weapon Hold L1(+ D-pad)- walk R2 (+ D-pad)- dash L2- block/guard Start-pause game Select-Options Mode (menu) The Analog sticks may be used for manual camera movement (circular, zoom)
The basic controls for each character are the same. Each character has their own unique attack combos. These attack combos are selected by pressing the control buttons in sequential order. (Example: up, down, CIRCLE, up, SQUARE, left, CIRCLE, right) The combos will never be exactly like another characters’. NOTE: combos are viewable within the move lists, located in the Options Mode; under ‘Bios’.
Weapons:
The weapons featured in Murder Mania will relate to the ones used in each of the characters’ movies. For example: Freddy will be equipped with his classic glove-claws.
Melee type weapons; such as hatchets, knives, hammers, chains, etc. are exibited in arenas. Each character is equipped a weapon at the start of the game, however, only a limited amount of weapons are accessible within the Inventory Mode.; thus, many others may be unlocked (see ‘Unlockables’).
Unlockables:
Weapons- When an opposing character is defeated, the weapon in which the opposing character was equipped with is then accessible within the Inventory Mode.
Characters- Just as weapons, there is only a limited amount of selectable characters accessible from the start of the game. In Story mode, once an opposing character is defeated, they will then be accessible, enabling the player to play as that particular character in a new arena. In any Multiplayer mode, all characters are accessible; thus no characters are unlockable.
Character Bios- As mentioned earlier, in Story Mode, after each battle is won, a movie stream will play; featuring the player's selected character, presenting them with a story behind the character’s history and why they are competing in the tournament. Once the player has completed the tournament with atleast one character, each cut-scene, featuring the particular character, will be viewable in the Options Mode; under ‘Bios’.
(more unlockables to be added, with your help of course)
Well, that’s pretty much the gist of it! I hope you all enjoyed reading. Feedback is greatly appreciated. Only constructive criticism will be taken seriously.

I never really thought about writing a sequel to this particular game, hmmm. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. I've always found that detail and complexity is the real way to write, however I don't think 'Murder Mania' is one of my best. I'm working on a new very complex and detailed game idea right now, I'm sure you'll all love it. Thanks again. Oh, and don't forget to check out my other game ideas, just click on the link to the right- "view game ideas".

This game sounds really great! It is very well done. This is a great idea for a fighting game, and I'm surprised that nobody made one like this already.

I hate to be a party pooper. Really like the idea, but I have two words which will likely prevent the game from ever being commercially made: licencing fees. The sheer amount of money required to buy the licences to use those characters in a game would be excessive. A company might gamble on being able to tap into multiple markets, but people would likely view the game as another 'gimmick' fighter and not buy it much. In the current multiple-sequel low-risk games market, a company taking such a risk is unlikely. Pity.

Wow. After reading all this 'contructive criticism" from you (on all my ideas), kindda makes me want to postpone all future work and upgrade the current ones to meet these standards. I'm practically speechless...when I said "tear up my ideas" I didn't think anyone would go all at it- he he. But hey! Thanks alot! Not only will I be sure to thouroughly cross-examine my currrent ideas, but make more "impressive' ones in the future as well. Thanx again.

Actually, a sequel to this game could have tons of possibilities. I like the idea of more unlockables, and I also have some of my own, such as story mode, and a few other badass ideas like mini-games...

The title could have been better. Otherwise, you thought up of one kick azz fighting game. Maybe you could throw in Hellraiser, and even though he isn't a bad guy, Edward Scissorhands.
