My idea is originally about a wizard game I know I know there’s plenty of wizard game like Harry potter and Diablo.

In my wizard game I would have an inventory which you could collect staff’s wands robes hat’s and armour though it’s going to be different as you progress into the game you are able to collect more spell books (well that’s no idea you say) but in my game you will need a microphone so when you read these spell books (which will probably only have like 5 spells) you will have to read them out into the mic! This game will really get the mind thinking because in an intense battle you might not have time to read the spells and say them out and you will have to remember the spells and say them in the mic therefore creating a spell to kill or freeze that monster and also getting that spell book there would be a lock so you don’t just say a spell you found in a message board. So in this wizarding game (I would probably also add to pick a witch) you read the incantations and travel the world of ->(suggestions to the name would be accepted!) but really I don’t think I could think up a whole story for along time so it would need to have a team working on a story this is just basically a intro to my spell storm game.

 

So well can somebody kind of add onto this for me, as I would like a lot of us to brainstorm ideas for spell storm.

I don't really care for the Harry Potter games, but using magic in video games IS definately interesting. That is a very nice theme you've added, reading the spells off in a microphone. You're definately right about adding more to this one...you did say that reading spells in drastic situations would build tension\anxiety. Why not add a feature that makes it harder to perform spells correctly under harsh environments? If anything, go into the spells themselves a little more deeper. Are powerful spells longer and harder to say? What kind of different spells can you use...curses, charms, hexes? That kind of stuff. I agree with Dusty: this one is a fairly original idea that could be added to the Primary Index with a bit more work. Keep it up.

i remember once home consoles and computers had alot of interactive hardware. remember nintendoes light gun? the power glove? in my opnion these lil gadjets made gaming much more fun. i definetly can see the appeal of your idea. being able to manipulate a game through voice command would bring us closer to a virtual simulated enviorment. still it deals with incantations and casting spells so religious fundies would slam it hard. however, who cares what they think?

Indeed, an interesting concept. My only critique is that you make sure that these "voice commanded" spells are easy to pronouce- I'm not so sure that the player would enjoy stumbling over pronunciations, such as the latin dialect. Nice work.
