Blood Blades 2: The Return Of Heitile is the sequel to one of my previous ideas, Blood Blades.

Story:
It has been 14 years since Verang destroyed Heitile and Sindow and brought peace and tranquility back to the Earth. Unfortunately, Heitile's father, Douro, has resurrected Heitile and brought him back to life. Fully restored and stronger than ever, Heitile wants revenge, and he is taking his fight to the Mortal Plane now.

Characters:

Verang: Now 54 years old, Verang has married Mira and had a son together. Heitile sends Verang a telepathic message to say hello. Verang is stunned by this, and once again reforms the Holy Alliance. He now uses a sword, since his mace was destroyed when the holy energies killed Heitile. The only thing that can kill a demon is an intensely holy attack.
Verang's Weapons:
1. Two-Handed Sword - Verang's most balanced weapon.
2. Falchion - A very fast weapon. However, it lacks reach and offense.
(HIDDEN) 3. Broadsword - A very defensive weapon with a long reach. However, it lacks speed.
(HIDDEN) 4. Heavy Axe - A very offensive weapon. However, it lacks speed and has limited combos.
(HIDDEN) 5. Blessed Mace - A very offensive and defensive weapon. However, it lacks speed and reach.

Mira: Now in her late 40's, Mira tries to avoid fighting. However, she does rejoin the HA for some more action. Also, since the recent attacks on Amazon tribes, she has been feeling strange mental shocks. It is rumored that Mira may have a hidden connection with the Amazons...
Mira's Weapons:
1. Double-Bladed Spear- Mira's most balanced weapon.
2. Quarter Staff- A very fast weapon. However, it lacks reach, offense, and defense.
(HIDDEN) 3. Javelin- A very fast, offensive weapon with good combos. However, it lacks reach.
(HIDDEN) 4. Bardiche - A very offensive and defensive weapon with a long reach. However, it has limited combos.
(HIDDEN) 5. Long Staff - A very fast weapon with a long reach. However, it lacks offense and has limited combos.

Sinre: Getting all of his anger out by killing Akuwolf, Sinre is now a gentle giant. However, despite his kind personality, Sinre is still quite fierce in battle, and shows no mercy. He accepts Verang's request to rejoin the Holy Alliance, since Sinre has completely devoted himself to the cause of good.
Sinre's Weapons:
1. Standard Chainsaw- Sinre's most balanced weapon.
2. Bronze Chainsaw- A very fast and defensive weapon. However, it lacks offense.
(HIDDEN) 3. Silver Chainsaw - A very offensive weapon. However, it lacks defense.
(HIDDEN) 4. Gold Chainsaw - A weapon with good combos and a long reach. However, it lacks speed.
(HIDDEN) 5. Platinum Chainsaw - A very offensive and defensive weapon with good combos. However, it lacks speed and reach.

Smolia: Smolia has retired from being an assassin, but she still knows the art of silent, stealthy killing. Even though she has joined the Holy Alliance, she claims that she is only doing it to finally kill the now-evil Kumistu, and will not admit that she is finally one of the good guys. At one point, Smolia and Mira sneak into the Egyptian capital to find a special gem called the Vermillion Ankh. With its power, they can stop the power-hungry Ralisis from her sick attempt to get the gem to give her unlimited power and immortality. Unfortunately, Ralisis reaches the gem first, and she is granted unlimited power and immortality. Smolia and Mira must impale Ralisis through the heart with a golden arrow in order to stop her.

Kumitsu: Turned into an evil killer by Heitile, Kumitsu is now in Heitile's clutches. The two now have a psychic bond. So if one dies, the other will die as well. Killing Kumitsu proves to be the only way to defeat Heitile.

Apocasha: Ralisis' second in command, she is as twisted as Ralisis. Apocasha, however, is even more insane, and casts spells having to do with the elements. She is also Mira's stepsister. She, like Mira, has been feeling mental pain since attacks on the Amazons. She eventually helps the Holy Alliance to free all of the enslaved Amazons, since Apocasha is an Amazon herself.

Dirrei: Another member of Smolia's race. It was thought that there were no other members left of that race. Dirrei is very suave, but is still quite powerful in battle, and joins the Holy Alliance in an attempt to repent for his past evil deeds. He used to be a feared warlord, and was ruthless and merciless. He meets up with the Holy Alliance after he breaks out of an Egyptian prison.

Ralisis: The power-hungry general of the Egyptian Armies. Her skill in combat rivals even Verang's. She is willing to do anything for more power, even if that means wiping out all of Egypt. She eventually enslaves all of the Amazon tribes, and even goes so far as to using the Vermillion Ankh to try to ressurrect and command the Dark Crusaders, an undead, demonic army commanded by Heitile. The Dark Crusaders were originally destroyed when the gate to the Demon Plane was sealed off using Verang's enchanted mace. This foolish plan ends up to be Ralisis' demise.

T'Laan: An Elven archer. He helps Smolia in learning how to use a bow and arrows, when he sees that she isn't doing so well at teaching herself. Strangely, considering how stubborn and independant Smolia is, she lets T'Laan help her! Smolia falls in love with him, but she also wants to be with Dirrei so that they can recreate their entire race together. Love is a harsh mistress!

Fiero: The 14 year old son of Verang and Mira (yes, they DO get married), Fiero is a prodigy when it comes to the sword. He can defeat even a skilled adult warrior. He becomes friends with Heitile's brother Zerrid, who is about the same age as Fiero in human years. Of course, Verang and Douro don't like this, and the keep telling their children that the other is a "bad influence."

Douro: Heitile and Zerrid's evil father, Douro revives Heitile after he is eventually killed by Verang. Douro is not as cocky as his son. He is very intelligent, and often takes the time to carefully plan out the defeat of his enemies rather than just go all out.

Zerrid: The youngest son of Douro, Zerrid and Heitile are living proof of sibling rivalry. Heitile and Zerrid ALWAYS pick on each other, but since Heitile is older, he often gets the upper hand on his younger brother. Zerrid is a blue demon, and is about 14 years old in human years. He also has ice powers.

Kitafang: Kitafang, the gothic necromancer, was created when Zerrid tried to manipulate dead flesh for the first time. Douro was teaching his son how to re-animate dead human flesh, and Kitafang was the result. Kitafang follows Zerrid EVERYWHERE, which gets on Zerrid's nerves. Kitafang may be a mindless zombie, but he is a force to be reckoned with in battle.

Heitile: The evil, crossdressing demon is back, and is very eager to get revenge on Verang. Heitile opens the gates that seal the Demon Plane from the Mortal Plane, allowing Douro, Zerrid, himself, and all the evil demons into the Mortal Plane to wreak havoc. Heitile eventually slaughers the Egyptian army, and builds a huge satanistic cathedral in the outskirts of Egypt. Gathering the remains of the Dark Crusaders, risen by Ralisis, he forms a huge army and faces the Amazonian army. While the Dark Crusaders and the Amazons are fighting in the Mortal Plane, the Holy Alliance is fighting the Demons, Kitafang, and Kumitsu down in the Demon Plane. Verang, in a last ditch effort to save the universe, sacrifices his soul energy to close the Demon Gates forever, and therefore destroys the Dark Crusaders and the satanistic temple, because the source of demonic energy has been cut off due to the closing of the gates. Unfortunately, this action also results in Verang's death. With the permanent closing of the gates, and the Mortal Plane restored to normal, all is well once again. Heitile, Douro, Kumitsu and Kitafang were all killed, but Zerrid's remains were not found...

Gameplay:

The gameplay is as follows:

Lifebar- Decreases with every hit the character takes. When there is nothing left, then that character is knocked out. There are three levels to a lifebar: Green, Yellow, and Red. The lifebar is located at either the upper-left (Player 1) or upper-right corner (Player 2) of the screen.

Mana- Decreases with every special move used, but increases with every hit the character makes on the opponent. The mana bar is located directly under the lifebar, and is always blue.

Fatigue- This bar is white in coloration, and slowly increases each time the character gets hit. When it is full, the fatigue bar will flash and the character will be stunned for a few seconds. When the character recovers from being stunned, the fatigue bar will empty itself and start back at the beginning. This bar is located directly under the mana bar.

Weapons- Before each match, each player will get to 1 out of 5 (3 of the 5 are hidden) weapons to use in battle. Each weapon has different advantages and disadvantages.

Arena- Before each match, each player can alternate in selecting an arena to fight in, or an arena can be randomly chosen. Each arena has different features that allow for different fighting capabilities, and sometimes you can knock players into a different arena from the current arena!

Controls:

Each fighter has a set of movements:

Jump, Crouch, Walk (left, right) Dash (left, right) Evade, Guard, Throw, light/medium/hard Punch and Kick, and a unique taunt for each fighter. Also, stringing together different variations of attacks allows for a very versatile combo system. Each weapon has different combos, however. Characters can also be knocked through walls, windows, and doors, and objects such as pottery and furniture can be knocked over and/or broken, or even used in combat!

Modes Of Play:

  • Arcade Mode- Select a single fighter and battle all the rest of the fighters in the game, one by one.
  • Story Mode- Select a single fighter and follow the storyline of the game, unlocking special cinematics that you can view later, weapons that can be used in battle, and arenas that you can fight in.
  • Time Trial Mode- Using a single fighter, beat every fighter within a custom time limit!
  • Tournament Mode- A tournament for up to 12 competitors. CPU and/or human players may participate.
  • Versus Mode- Two human players, or one human and one CPU player, can each select a single fighter and battle each other.
  • Team Versus Mode- A mode for two human players, one human and one CPU, or two humans and one CPU. Each player selects two fighters. During battle, the player can alternate between fighters, like a tag-team match. When one fighter is knocked out, the other automatically steps in. Another way to do this mode is that one human player selects a character and the second human player selects another to be on the same team, against one CPU. The players control their own characters, and can alternate between the two fighters freely.
  • Practice Mode- Practice playing the game here. In this mode, you can view move lists, make the opponent stay still, guard, jump, crouch, or attack, and you can fight against a human or a CPU.
  • Options- Here, you can set various game options, such as:
Difficulty- Set CPU difficulty to Novice, Easy, Medium, Hard, or Impossible.
Blood- Turn the blood on or off.
Controls- View and edit game controls to your liking.
Music Volume- Set the volume of game music.
SFX Volume- Set the volume of game sound effects.
Music/SFX Test- Listen to game music and sound effects.
Language- Set game language to English, Spanish, French, or German.
Fatalities- Turn game fatalities on or off.
Destruction- Turn this off if you don't want characters to be able to damage and interact with backgrounds.
Fighter Bios- View biographies, move lists, and statistics for all the fighters.
Memory Card- Load, Save, or Erase data from the memory card.
  • Mini-Game Mode- Here, you can play fun little mini-games to take a break from fighting.
  • Cinematics Mode- Here, you can view the cinematics that you unlock in Story Mode.

UPDATE!- Added weapons lists for Verang and Mira.
UPDATE!- Added Sinre's weapon list.

Nice work Shaboba! The original blood blades was indeed an enjoyable and impressive work, and I'm certainly glad you came out with a second one as I am a sequel freak. THE GOODS: Your character developement and information is very outstanding, nice work. Also, the storyline is quite impressive, so props for that too. THE BADS (Well, not BAD...maybe MEDIOCRE...) The only things that really sprung out at me was this: you mentioned mini-games and that there were four of them. What the hell are they? As for my second point: you did list the general controls for all characters, but I had a thought. Maybe you could list a few signature attacks\controls for each character, and then list that the other main attacks are basically the same. This would also go well with the fatalities. Hope I could help.

well shaboba one thing i always hated about fighter games was the lack of a storyline...and as with the last blood blades you provide plenty of depth for your characters. i love the new villianess as well as the inclusion of some egyptian mythology. as before the assassin girl is my favorite character(i find dark chicks sexy..lol) and also liked your new elfen archer(kinda of a harsh love triangle you got going though). you got a rich mythology here. maybe someday you should do a blood blades rpg..just a thought.

Sorry, my mistake. You indeed didn't say anything about 4 mini games. However, in MINI GAME MODE listed near the end you did say FUN mini games, so I guess I read it too fast.
