WWE Backyard Wrestling Federation
Written By: JT560 (Jimmy Truong)
Explanation: WWE Backyard Wrestling Federation is basically an insane, lethal, wrestling game idea I’ve come up with for a long time. It is a mixture of Backyard Wrestling, WWF No Mercy, and WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain! The game should have WWE wrestlers like The Rock, Undertaker, Triple H, The Hardy Boyz, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and etc. in their childhood forms. You get to play as your favorite wrestlers when they were kids! The game is about the wrestlers in their childhood. They created their own wrestling federation for kids called Backyard Wrestling Federation. There they hold weekly shows and monthly pay-per-views of wrestling for kids around the neighborhood to watch.
Sound: Entrance music will be the oldest known entrance music from the WWE of any wrestler. For example, The Rock’s music will be his old one in the WWE where you can hear him saying “The Rock Says.” During game play, music and commentary will be playing. Kids will be doing the commentary. The crowd will also scream very loud when a wrestler taunts or makes their entrance to the ring. Wrestlers that are heel will be booed at on their way to the ring. Cheap moves like low blows and illegal pins will make the crowd boo too.
Environment: The environment is very interactive. Backstage areas will have weapons littered everywhere. Wrestlers will brawl out on the streets, at the park, inside classrooms, kitchens, parking lots, and of course, the backyard. In the backyard, wrestlers will be able to jump off tree houses, run over their friends with lawnmowers, and break their opponents through picnic tables. On the streets, cars might run you over. Wrestlers can use various weapons like shopping carts, kendo sticks, chairs, fire extinguishers, tables, ladders, and all sorts of weapons. Weapon grapples will be allowed to do as well. For example, if you do a weapon grapple on an opponent with a shopping cart, you’ll push him/her into the cart and push it until they fall out. With a chair grapple, you can DDT them onto the chair. Rings will be old-fashioned styled and located in various places like in a backyard or inside a club. Even pay-per-view arenas will be unprofessional looking (duh, they’re made by kids) and located in places like in the middle of a street or inside someone’s living room.
Game play: Now this topic is where all the important things of the game are. Gamers will have several modes in the game to play. In Exhibition, players will be able to choose their match and settings and compete with their friends or with the computers. Players in Exhibition mode will have the choice to pick the wrestler’s stats they want to use. For example, if I picked Undertaker in Exhibition mode, I could choose to pick his regular stats or his season mode stats I upgraded in season mode. In Options, players can choose the default rules of a match and difficulty settings of computers. They can also choose the settings for other things like Commentary, Interferences, Music and etc. This game should not feature blood because it is too cruel to see children bleed. The Create-a-Superstar mode shall have many features including gear, clothes, facial features, many kinds of hairstyles, many moves, logics, and attributes. Create-A-Stable mode is also very useful. You can create stables and delete stables. Make a team with your friends’ wrestlers or make your dream team. Create-A-Stable will also let you make the stables’ entrances. A neat feature that should be included is you get to pick a weapon for your wrestler before a match (involved with weapons) to come out with. And attacking someone on his/her way to the ring is would be cool too. In Season mode, you will select a wrestler to play as throughout the story. Not all wrestlers are playable in Season mode. Each character has their own version of the story. Your wrestler will compete in weekly shows of BWF (Backyard Wrestling Federation) and also PPVs (Pay-Per-Views). Season mode will be multi-player and split-screen when you’re exploring backstage. Season mode will also have cut scenes and special events that will occur depending on what your wrestler does. Every day in season mode, your wrestler will have to attend elementary school where you can have to attempt to complete missions to upgrade your stats. Like in Math class, you can upgrade your intelligence. While in gym class, you can join the wrestling team and practice moves and upgrade your strength, speed, and etc. When a weekly show starts, you can wander around backstage until your match starts. When you wander around backstage, you can talk with other BWF wrestlers and become allies or enemies. Making allies are good because they can interfere your matches and help you. While enemies will interfere you matches and try to stop you from winning. Your wrestler will have a list of the top 5 allies and top 5 enemies of your wrestler. It will also show how much your allies are friendly with you and how much your enemies are hostile to you depending on color. Pure green means your allies are very friendly. Pure red means your enemies hate you so much. Yellow means you’re okay with your ally. You will also be able to ask for title shots depending on your character. The Rock would want a title shot at the Undisputed Champion Title. The Hurricane would want a title shot at the Cruiserweight Champion Title. You can also get a manager, which will accompany you to the ring every time you have a match. Managers can also get you title shots more easily than without a manager. Each week there will be 2 shows. The 2 shows are not Raw and Smackdown because this is BWF and not WWE. The 2 names for the shows are up for ideas. During season mode, you will compete in matches on both the shows. Some weeks, you won’t have a match. Pay-Per-Views will be held each month and again I have not thought of the names of the Pay-Per-Views. King of The Ring mode will let you compete in a tournament of 4 to 16 wrestlers. Theater mode lets you view clips and movies that you purchased from the Shopzone. And last but not least, the BWF Shopzone. In season mode, you can visit the Shopzone to purchase unlockables such as backstage areans, regular arenas, secret characters, costumes for wrestlers, weapons, movies, and attribute points to upgrade your character’s stats. Taunts will bring up a wrestler’s special. The grapple system will have light grapples and heavy grapples which opens up a new set of moves. Taunts can be done on aprons, turnbuckles, and just regularly standing. Special moves will be done in specific positions such as the Pedigree is done when the opponent is standing groggy. The People’s Elbow will be done at the opponent’s head when the opponent is lying face up inside the ring. Specials can be done off of ladders, tables, aprons, barricades, and any kind of edge (like in Smackdown games). Submissions will be more realistic too as they will be hard to escape if your wrestler is weak. Location specific damage will be in as well. You can keep on weakening a certain body part of a wrestler and eventually if you do a submission on them, they’re going to submit. If you keep aiming for a wrestler’s head, they will be knocked out soon.
Match Types: Now to get on with match types. This game should include all the regular matches such as Singles, Tag Team, Triple Threat, Fatal 4 Way, Handicap 2 on 1, Handicap 3 on 1, Hardcore, 6-man Tag, 6-man Tornado Tag, Armageddon, and Tornado Tag matches. Special matches that should be included are Ironman, Slobberknocker, Street Fight, Hell in a Cell, TLC, TLC Title, Ladder, Special Referee, Cage, Cage Pin/Submit, Cage Elimination, Table, Battle Royal, Table Elimination, 6-man Tag Elimination, Captain Fall Elimination, Inferno Match (where you can light things up with fire like in Backyard Wrestling: Don’t Try This At Home), Casket Match, Biker Chain Match, Ambulance Match (Weapons that you should see in hospitals), Stretcher Match, Flaming Table Match, Country Whippin’ Match, Last Man Standing, 3 Stages of Hell, and Elimination Chamber.
Replay Value: The replay value should be high because there are many matches to compete in. You can also bring your friends over to play. And the season mode length is extensive with each character up to 6 years so you won’t get bored of season mode. The backstage levels are large and have many interactive things so you should never get bored of exploring the levels and attempting insane stunts like jumping off houses and buildings and Power Bombing someone through a flaming table.
Systems and Rating: This game should be for Xbox, Playstation 2, and Gamecube. The rating for this game should be T for Teen for Violence and Crude Language.
Players: On Playstation 2, this game should support at least 6 players. On Xbox and Gamecube, the game should support up to 4 players, but allows up to 6 wrestlers in a match.
