Well my idea isn't completely finished but i hoped if i posted what i have so far here people will help me with it.
PLAY THORUGH THE EVOLUTION OF THE GAME WORLD.
The main idea of this game is that it spreads over a long period of time, something around 150 years, and that you control your Hero's family too (i need help with this feature, how exatly to implement it with teh game and what exactly can you do with the family). I still don't have a stroyline for this game, which is the reason why i posted what I have so far, but the main idea is that the game begin in a certain time before a certain war. you play out a number of missions for this era, controling a squad of 3 memebers. this era will revolve more around inflitration and stealth missions, gathering information on the enemy, chasing down informants, getting hold of key positions which will be used later in the game during the war, and more... once you complete this era, which is around 30 years time, your main character dies for some reason (HELP!heh) and after a period of 10 years or so the war begins and you take over the main characters son. during this era the more intense fighting is for it is during a great war, this will be more like destroying bases, kidnaping key personal, missile assaults, aerial assaults, going behind enemy line and such. Now, the last era will conclude the war and u presume the role of the next born son of our hero, which by now is he war hero and your family has become a Dynasty (i am also trying to think of an idea to implement an option of making your family good or evil based on your actions in the game... help here too!). the missions of this era will be rescuing captured prisoners of war, covert operations like sniping remaining threats, get away missions, pretoecting... and such...
There will also be extra missions you can embark on, like side quests. Or you can go out from the "main base" and be a bounty hunter, a thieve, help certain people, recieve jobs (where you decide if you think theyll affect you for worse or good, making your family good or evil).
Gameplay: I want this game to emphesize on covering eachother during combat, having diversions; lets say one of your guys shoot on an oponent who is on a hard t get spot to make a diversion, while on your other guys creep around him or get to a high spot to nail the bad guy. This game will have the Fallout: Tactics look to it, but for a sniper having the ability to actually see through the scope in first person would be awesome (i dont know if thats possilbe to make). Tactics like smoke grenades and flashbangs like in SWAT will be used to clear rooms. Getting good sniper spots to cover your squad will also be important in the game. Also using the GEO - MOd used in Red Faction to blast through walls, the debris flying from it causing damage, lets say some bad guys are standing behind a wall and u blow it with a TNT charge, the fragments from the wall will hit him and cause damage or even kill him. The geo mod can bring a lot of possibilities to the game. Jumps jets will also be used to get to high spots, or even evading enemies. There will aslo be a Pop-A-Shot feature where if you hide behind a wall you can press a Key and your character will pop one shot, with relatively bad aim, and go behind cover again. Rocket launcher will be able to aim over building and bombard the other side, this will have very bad aiming for your character can't see the target. Mines will also be used to clear out patroling enemies or cause diversions. Aerial enemies: in some missions you will have to fight helicopters, or take down threatening airplanes, or destroying supply aircraft. The aiming system will be more like Crusader (if anyolne played that game, i loved it). All the other basic elemts of a squad baseed game will be there: crouching, proning, medic, hacking, yadi yadi ya. (All of these i will update when i finish writing this game but i just couldnt wait to post it so im writing what i have so far, plus i wanted ideas maybe...) There will be a main base where you can purchase items, get mission briefing and other events... etc etc. Plus you will be able to explore the surrounding citys for side quests and to level up your charcter.
There will also be a muiltiplayer mode where you can compete against other players, a profile of your familys rating and such will be kepts from game to game, so this game will have a high replay value. A cooperative mode, playing missions with a another family online.
The main character will also age, including your family, but this also i need help with...!:)
PLEASE HELP ME WUITH THE FAMILY IDEA, THE GOOD AND EVIL THING, CHARACTER AGING AND THE STROY!!!! :)
