Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
The world is taken over by hideous, massive aliens, and Johnny Beefeater is the only one that can save them. This game will have many weapons, enemies, interactions and maps for you to enjoy. You will interact with many objects and people, as well as visit many strange and unique locations, such as bowling alleys, casinos, hospitals, churches, and even a grocery store. Gameplay will be similar to any FPS game, except you will be able to control many vehicles, such as shopping carts, riding mowers, motor cycles, mail trucks, even F-18 Jets. Melee weapons will involve knives and forks, bowling balls, prosthetic legs, baseball bats, hammers, etc. and there will also be many guns for the player to use. There will also be many "Highly Explosive Secret Government Experimental Weapons" you can use, such as a Portable Nuke Launcher, Plasma Gun, Rocket Launcher, and even a Bra Launcher. many of the ideas in my game may have alredy been used, but First person Shooters aren't too complex. There can be many different bosses, ways to complete levels, and even different ways to go about the story (I.E. different endings). You can play as many different characters, Single Player, and Multiplayer. There can be Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and many other farmiliar Multiplayer modes. The things that make this game different from other FPS games, is the huge variety of weapons, people you can talk to, and all the vehicles.

Many problems with the many uses of "many"

This game idea is plagued by the copious use of the word "many" with no "such as" to back it up; the same thing I think gets many ideas that could be true shiners into the secondary index. "Many weapons." "Such as what?" "Many levels." "Such as where?" Though you have included a few examples of each, you haven't given enough to fall into the "many" level of plurals. Expand on your idea. Give "many" examples to what you have described. Describe a few of the levels more in depth. ( I'd like to see you explain how you can go from piloting a shopping cart to an F/A-18, logically. )Anyway, I've ranted enough. Give this a little work, and tell us where you're going with this. ( IE, Why do the aliens want to take over the earth? What is so special about Johnny that makes him the only one that can save us? And the like.) Good luck with it. Dare To Dream. "Many" times.

I like the word copious. Anyway, It seems to me that Johnny Beefeater is an amalgam of Duke Nukem/Serious Sam and maybe Johnny Bravo (but not Will Rock, he's just lame). If this is the case, he obviously doesn't need any more excuse to fight invading aliens than Europeans need to hate Americans (correction, than the whole world needs to hate Americans). Seeing as FPS games based around cheesy humor with catchphrases like "kiss my boomstick" or "smoke 'em if you got 'em" work pretty well to the pc and console gamer community, this idea could work if it were well implemented and some detail were put into it. Most people never realize that detail is what an idea needs to succeed.

Detail, detail, detail - a game idea cannot survive without it. Although I rarely lay eyes on secondary indexed ideas, it seems that this one in particular may have a spark of potential. Both arkian and diver have excellent points, leaving me with not much more to say. When reading this idea (this very short idea, if I may add), I tried to grasp onto as much as could, visualizing me - Johnny Beefeater - roaming the chaotic city streets of Whateverville, all the while blasting aliens to pieces. Very intruiging I must say. Perhaps arkain is correct, in the sense that a "plot" is not needed for this genre; however I've come up with my own; or atleast a suggestion-- is it just me, or do these aliens sound like they should resemble (in physical appearence) cows (that's right, COWS) armed with plasma ray guns? Imagine Johnny blasting alien cows from outerspace to chunky bits of oozing, beefy pieces - just another something to "spice up" this idea. Like it or not, that's my input for today. Dismiss or utilize at will. Best of Luck.

I can't believe you'd call a game Johnny Beefeater, that's just like saying "Johnny goes down on girls". YOu're nasty and i hope you're banned from this site.

To be totally accurate, a beefeater was a class of British soldier. Perhaps this is what was meant by Johnny's name?

You don't say, a British soldier eh? Well, aside from the other and fairly inappropraite interpretation of "beefeater", perhaps the author could add a little more emphasis to the comical essence of this game and lean towards my "alien cows armed with plasma guns" idea - heh. Best of luck
