Attack Squadron The Story Its the year 1995; Russia on November 22, 1993 attacked America, even after sending masses amounts of soldiers to try and defeat the Russians, the Russians could not be defeated, their fighters kept giving air support to the ground troops, destroying our men as they fought. Now two years latter the President of the United States is calling for highly trained pilots, straight out of Top Gun, to go and fight the Russians from the air so that our soldiers may defeat the Russians.
The Basic Idea of the Game Its the year 1995, and the Russians have attacked America, fresh out of Top Gun are three new pilots, their names are John Howler (Ice Man), Angel Peterson (Angel), and Logan Evelyn (Cobra), these pilots all have the chance to fight back at the Russians with high tech fighter planes, the dog-fights will take place over America, Russia, and the Atlantic Ocean. In each level you will face different challenges, for instance you will have to experience Daytime Flying, Nighttime Flying, Bad Weather Flying, Ground-to-air missiles, flak cannons, enemy MIG’s, battleships, and different ground targets like flak cannons, tanks, buildings, airbases, and vehicles. There will be 15 different levels that will make you experience different things each time.
The Pilots
John Howler Age: 21 Gender: Male Height: 5’9 ft. Weight: 160 Job: Fighter Pilot Rank: Wingman Specialist: He can handle the F-4 ICE, and the F-14A Tomcat the best out of his class. Hobbies: He likes to play Video games, work on his truck, and date pretty girls. He also likes to read books about the military and the Air force. Nickname: Ice Man
Angel Peterson Age: 22 Gender: Female Height: 5’6 ft. Weight: 145 Job: Fighter Pilot Rank: Wingman Specialist: She can handle the F-4 ICE. Hobbies: She likes to play basketball, lift weights, go shopping on days off, and she likes to go to parties. She also likes to watch romance movies. Nickname: Angel
Logan Evelyn Age: 20 Gender: Male Height: 6 ft. Weight: 187 Job: Fighter Pilot Rank Wingman Specialist: He can handle the F-14A Tomcat. Hobbies: Showing off while flying, playing hockey, lifting weights, and running, he also likes to date girls, but tends to be to serious when on a date with them. Nickname: Cobra
Fighter Jets After researching several types of planes I have decided that there should only be 8 types of fighter planes in the game, two of which are yours to fly. The eight fighter jets are: the Mig-21 the F-4 ICE, the F-14A Tomcat, the F-15C Eagle, F-16 Fighting Falcon, the Mirage F1, the Su-27 “Flanker”, and the Mig-31 “Foxhound”. The two planes that you can fly are the F-14A Tomcat, and the F-4 ICE. All the planes will have accurate information; they will each have different capabilities, whether its fuel, ammo, speed, maneuverability or high tech systems. Below are the two fighters, which gamers will use, they are in order, the first one is the fighter plane that they will start out with, and work their way towards the other plane.
Your Fighters
F-4 ICE Specifications F-4F Ice
Type: Two-seat fighter/fighter-bomber. Powerplant: Two 17,864-lb, -thrust General Electric J79-MTU-17A afterburning turbojets. Max Speed: Mach 2.17 or 1.430 M.P.H. without weapons. Service Ceiling: 62,250 ft. Range: 1,607 miles. Weapons: Four AIM-120 AMRAAM or AIM-7 Sparrow medium-range radar-guided air-to-air missiles; AIM-9 Sidewinder heat-seeking missiles. Weight: Empty 32,035 lb; Loaded 61, 721 lb. Dimensions: Span=38 ft. Length=62 ft. Height=16 ft. and Wing area=530 sq. ft.
Action Data
Turning Rate: Medium. Increased thrust and reduced weight give the F-4s a better instantaneous and sustained turn rate than older F-4s. Especially those with unslatted wings. The upgraded Mig-21 with an RD-33 Engine could probably still outturn the F-4.
Climb Rate: 61,385 fpm. Increased engine efficiency gives the new generation F-4s a superior climb rate to the older models. The F-4D had a slightly superior climb rate to standard Mig-21 bis, thanks to high thrust to weight ratio; the latest upgraded Mig-21s would probably have a better climb rate, thanks to the power of the RD-33 engine. The F-4 Ice climb rate would challenge many more fighters,
Missile Range: 31+Miles. Like the MIG-21, the F-4 has been made vastly more capable of new fire-and-forget missiles, allowing the aircraft to turn away from its opponent as soon as it fires its own weapons.
F-14A Tomcat Specifications Type: Two-seat long-range shipboard fleet defense interceptor, tactical reconnaissance aircraft and fighter-bomber. Powerplant: Two Pratt @ Whitney TF-30-P-412As. Max Speed: 1,584 mph at 40,000 ft. Combat radius: 378 mi. on internal fuel; 750 miles with two 130-gal. Tanks. Service ceiling: 68,900 ft. Weapons: One 20-mm Vulcan cannon. Six AIM-54 Phoenix missiles or six AIM-7 Sparrow plus four AIM-9 sidewinder missiles. Up to 14,300 lb. of air-to-ground weapons. Weight: Maximum takeoff 70,280 lb. Dimensions: Span=61 ft. 10 in. Length=62 ft. Height=16 ft. and Wing area=565 sq. ft.
Action Data
Reach: The F-14A has long-range radar (180 mi.) and missiles (90 mi.).
Simultaneous Engagement: The F-14A can simultaneously engage up to six targets at one time, flying at different altitudes, airspeeds, and different directions.
Game Design Intro Movie The game starts off with the screen turning black, in the back ground you can hear the sounds of explosions, and the yelling of men, suddenly the screen clears and you can see New York City in ruins, Russian fighter jets are flying around shooting missiles at buildings, an American fighter jet comes flying into the picture, the jet starts to fire at an enemy fighter when a missile comes up behind him and hits his tail fins, sending the jet down in flames. After this happens the screen goes dark again, this time small white writing appears telling you what happened, after it displays the info for about twenty seconds its to disappear, and big white letters fade-in, at the middle of the screen that says “Two Years Later”. After it disappears, a new scene comes up this time you see the President talking, about how they are going to send fighters over and attack the Russians fighters, and to give air support to the troops. At the end of his speech the screen again goes dark, but this time your General appears telling you, that you and two others had been selected to go and help fight the Russians, and then the screen goes dark, and the menu appears.
The Menu The menu is pretty basic, instead of the button that’s says start new game, it will say Start a New Career, and the option button will instead say Training, now its name holds true, instead of just the basics of sound and key control, it will also have a training course were you can learn to fly the F14A Tomcat, and the F-4 Ice fighter jets. The load game button will say Go to Hanger. Besides these few little things, a F-14A Tomcat can be seen in the background sending a Mig to its death, the clip in the background will be looped.
Level 1 The level starts out with you sitting in the lounge enjoying the morning sunrise, when your commanding officer comes in and tells you to get to debriefing, after you make your way to the room, (That’s right, YOU have to make your character go to the debriefing room.) your General tells you that three enemy MIG’s had been spotted outside of their territory, and your job is to find out what these MIG’s want, and what they are doing there, and if you are fired upon or if any other hostile action is taken against you, then you are to open fire, and destroy them without question. After you get out of debriefing you need to take your character over to the dressing room to get your flight suit on, and after that you have to make your way to the hanger, were your F-4 is sitting, once YOU take off, you have to fly towards three blinking marks on your radar, after about two minutes you will see three enemy MIG’s heading at you, without breaking formation, just when it seems that you will crash all three of them split apart, the left Mig heads of to the left, and the right Mig goes to the right, and the center Mig locks on to you, but does not fire, he then goes straight up, after you decide who you want to attack first, you need to keep an eye on the other two, they will be trying to get you in their sights and if they do you will have a hard time dodging bullets or missiles. If you destroy all three of them, you have to head back to base, and land the plane, your Commander will then ask for a report on the fight, and if you found any info on why they where there, which of course you don’t have a clue why they where. After you are done talking to your commander you can do anything you want until your next mission. Also you earn medals and cash for each completed mission, the medals help you earn more respect and rise in ranks, and the cash lets you buy things.
Level 2 You are sleeping in your warm bed when your commander runs and tells you to head over to the debriefing room right away, after you get dress, you have to head over to the conference room, your General tells you that a American Battleship has been attacked by the Russians and most of their guns have been destroyed they need air cover right away, you and your wing man (Depended on who you are!) are to get over there and put a stop to the air attack, the ship cannot last much longer at the rate they are firing at them. After he finishes you head over to the dressing room to get your flight suit on, after that you head over to the hanger and get in your F-4, after you take off (Its in the middle of the night!) you use your radar to spot the two enemy fighters that keep attacking the ship, when you finally see them (Their lights) you engage them without question, the two fighters will break off their attack on the ship to fight you, these two fighters will pull extreme stunts to fight you, they will do all sorts of stuff like flips, spins, spin dives, full brakes, and more. After you beat them you head back base, and give your report to your General, if you got a good score on the kills you will be rewarded a medal. You can then do what you want till the next mission.
More Levels will be updated!
The Tech of Game
This game is a flight simulator, based on modern fighter jets, the flow of the levels is based on how fast the person beats them, the graphics are not a mandatory subject, its more the flow of the frames, the game should run around 60 fpm, to keep a nice smooth flow to the pictures. Players can view the game in 1st perspective and in 3rd perspective, in the 3rd perspective. Players will see more of the top and back of the plane, rather then the underbelly. The game animations are medium; the faces of characters are slightly animated. Features like the lips, and eyes will only be animated on the face, also the characters arms, legs and hands will be animated. Some other small things in the game that will be animated or interactive are things like drinks, people, clothes, cars or trucks, fighter jets, stores and gyms. The way the planes will explode vary on the position of impact of the missile, if the plane gets hit right in the back, the plane will go down in flames, or if the plane is hit from the side it can lose a wing and then fall out of the sky, or if it’s a direct hit to the front, the plane will explode in mid-air. When a plane receives impact from machine gun bullets it will start to let out smoke, the more damage it receives the darker the smoke gets, after the smoke is black, flames will then appear, and the plane will crash. Characters will be dressed in a grey flight suit, when in combat or in training, when they are off duty, the player can dress the character any way they want, as long as they have the clothes.
The AI The AI in the game should be excellent, what ever move or action you take or do, will also change the actions of the enemy, if you go right, and then into a dive, the enemy will take what ever course is necessary to get you into his sights or to chase after you. They will know when you are on their tail, they will know how to dodge an incoming missile, they will eject if they have to, they will even do aerial stunts to either escape to just to show off. They will also be able to do different attack patterns, they will run away if they think they are outnumbered or if they know they can’t win the fight. Computer players can talk back to you, on certain subjects, they are limited to what has been programmed into their program. They will be able to do certain things when you talk to them, they could act surprised, or shy.
Interaction In the game, players will be able to do more then just fly around and shoot down enemy fighters, they will be able to walk around on the base, you can make their character exercise, go to parties, drive in their car or truck, talk to other pilots, or members of the base. You can go shopping for clothes, you can buy books, so your character can read, and so on. Computer players in the game will be able to carry on a conversation to the player as long as the program knows what you are saying to it. In a normal area you will see about four to twelve people sitting, walking around, or working. Each one of these characters will have a personality, if there is an old man, he might be grouchy, if it’s a young women, she may slap you if you say something dirty to her, it all depends on who you are and what the character is acting like when you talk to them.
Sound The set up for the sound is not very important, though it would be nice if it was able to be surround sound, so that when a missile flies by you, you will hear it from behind or the side, and then when it passes you will see it in the front as well as hear it in the front.
Controls The controls are based on the system; if it’s the Xbox you will be using the Xbox controller, if it’s the PS2, you will uses the systems controller, and if it’s a Mac or PC you will use the keyboard and joystick. If you are using a computer your controls will be a little difficult to learn, in fact you will use most of all the keys on the keyboard if you are using a computer, keys like Shift-W will change your weapon settings or change your missile, or the keys combo Shift-S, will either turn on your safe for your guns or either turn it off.
