My greatest wish is to combine the concept of a bounty-hunter's life with the gameplay style of Devil May Cry (2) and the freedom of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Basically, there's a loner that specailizes in both swordfight and guns. Like the GTA games, you'll have a main storyline to play through in order to unlock the use of greater weapons and different cities. And by using the plural, I do mean that there will be more than one city, each of them quite large at that. Imagine three different Vice Cities, each unique and periless in their own ways. Indeed, it would prove to be a long project, probably taking up three disks (one for each major city).
I haven't really stormed up the main storyline, but the freedom aspect of this game is quite appetizing, at least to me. Surely, you'll still be able to rampage at will however you enjoyed to do it on the GTA games, but there will also be the bounty-hunter aspect of it. Simply walk into a bar or police department and there will be numerous posters and warrants displaying gangs and individual criminals that will produce a pre-determined reward for you once the target(s) are either dead or captured. You can either read posters and warrants or a random man (or woman) standing in or near an alley will signal for you and offer a bounty - these instances providing some of the more risky yet rewarding missions.
That being the freedom and bounty-hunter aspect of it, the style of DMC and such is requested due to an added amount of complexity. When making kills and completing missions, your character will sometimes acquire new skills and attributes alloted to whatever type of weapon you made use of during the mission (if you used guns the whole time, let's say that eventually you'll be given an auto-lock option and your accuracy will slowly improve along with a greater range of fire - or with swords, you will become faster and more agile as you gain skill, even acquiring a few freakish moves and combos to spice up the gameplay). Jumping won't be unrealistically high like most action games, but evasions and such will be smooth and swift to create a fluid feeling of gameplay. To keep things a bit more realistic, the average player won't want to start the game as a swordfighter, for one wouldn't want to jump up against gunfighters without any body armor, stealth or agility to even get close enough to hack them down. Once all of these needs are met, one can look beyond the risk and take down their enemies quickly and silently with deadly swordfight.
Well, I'll cut it there. Maybe I'll come up with an extensive storyline and put it on here. Cheers, Brimmy V.
