Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.
It is the year 2100. Racing cars have become faster and
faster, due to a discovery of magnetic engines. Magnetic
engines work in a way where a car can continue to
accelerate, but the car must reach 300 mph in 5 gears
before activating that engine. Since the cars have becoming
very fast, a league called Gear Zero has begun. This is the
intro of the game.
There are 2 modes and 2 sub-modes per mode in the game. The
modes are Single-player or Multi-player. The sub-modes are
story or arcade.
Single Story Mode: A one-player mode where you must reach
several objectives with only one character.
Single Arcade Mode: A one-player practice mode. The player
can practice on any track.
Multi Story Mode: This is a 2-4 player mode where each
player must race each other and reach their objectives at
the same time. Some objectives will require more than 1
player to reach, depending on the characters chosen.
Multi Arcade Mode: This is a 2-4 player versus mode. Only
players race on the tracks. They can choose from any track
to race.
Race Tracks and Rules: Gear Zero make racing tracks in half-pipes and full-pipes.
The cars can race on any part of the track. Gear Zero has
made 26 normal sizes tracks plus a marathon track. Each
normal track size is range from 300 to 1000 miles of
twists, turns, loops, corkscrews, jumps, and intersections.
There are boosters on each track. Each booster will boost
your car up a gear. The marathon track is all the tracks
together, a very long track but it want be long after you
reach gear zero. If your car jumps or falls of the course,
your game is over for that course. Each race will have 12
cars on the track at once.
Cars: Each car gear goes up 60 mph before switching gears. At
gear zero, the car continues accelerating. Also, in each
race, the car will have nitro that you can use, but you can
also run out of nitro. Once you run out, that's it for
nitro, but if you run over 10 boosters, your nitro gauge
will refill.
Characters: You can choose from 12 characters to play. Each charater
has its own car, but you can choose the color of it. Each
character car is different by grip, magnetic accel, normal
accel, and boosting. Here are some of the characters and
their cars:
Character: Leo Car: Camaro Boost: A Grip: A M.Accel: C N.Accel: D
Character: Ralph Car: Firebird Boost: D Grip: A M.Accel: A N.Accel: D
Character: Dan Car: Jaguar Boost: B Grip: D M.Accel: C N.Accel: D
Character: Mike Car: Mustang Boost: A Grip: A M.Accel: D N.Accel: D
Controls: The controls are simple. Accelerate, Brake, Cruise, Nitro,
Shift(Manual Trans. only) and Steer. While in the air, use
the Shift buttons to pitch your car up or down. You can
drive in a 1st or 3rd person view.
I recommend this game for Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, N5,
and Nintendo DS.
