Make it Big is a rap game that targets ages 17 through 30. You start out as a man who lives at home with his mom on the verge of getting evicted. A friend, J Money who hosts flowing battles at a club signs you up for a battle. After you win you and J Money decide to travel town to town battling other rappers at other clubs for the prize money. That's about the gist of it. You have a malignant rival rapper and there's a girl he's interested in who would rather hook up with you. You and him battle it out and vie for the same girl. You get to name all three characters. The battles are played by watching button symbols move along the line and pressing the corresponding buttons when they get to the mark. When the rapping part is done you go to break-it-down mode where you have to follow dance steps. You have other things to worry about in this game besides your rapping. There's a cool status concept. You have to divide up your prize money between clothes, accessories, headwear, shoes, and car accessories. When some of those things are not up to snuff the other rappers will talk about them when they rap against you. Each town has increasingly high standards. You also have to go around and talk to the non player characters in each town and do things to get their friendship so they can cheer for you at the battles. The battles are won by crowd response. When you're rapping in a town where nobody knows you no one will want to cheer for you. When you defeat your rival in the last town and sign onto a record label you beat the game.

I'm not much of a rap fan but I do like your game idea! It rocks... or rather.. uh... raps! Well anyways, I'd play it. You should perhapse devise a way for the player to type/write his/her own rap and have the game analyze it for ryme scheem and so on then they could have something they actually wrote critiqued. That woudl be a bit complicated tho, understandably. And maybe in each city you visit you have certain things you have to accomplish such as finding a place to stay, buddying up with certain people, perhapse you have to locate a certain item in order to bribe someone to cheer for you. All in all I think your 8mile take off sounds like an interesting game. I'd definately try it.

The whoel idea is a little.....eh, in the sense that you probably "thought" of this idea right after you watched 8 mile, right? well, if not, go watch the movie. give it some edge. Forget about the whole freestyle battling and focus on playing some guy who lives with his mom and has to escape before his rep at school or neighborhood gets f**ked! Find ways to get the money, for instance: get a job or rob a bank- hell i don't know, anything's better than what you've got so far...

I totally agreewith the others, reading it thought 'hmm any EMINEM/8MILE influence?' nevermind its still an ok idea even if original it aint.Maybe to make it more original you could add some more features like bizpimp said, maybe some proper fights ,gangs after you etc,oh and where are the chicks? Im a girl, i like Eminem in fact hes in my headphones as i write this, so how about adding a girl rapper, in a way it would give the game more depth cos it would be harder for her to hit the big time and it would add a touch more originality.anyway back to the reviews and the rapping...theVEE
