Learn Game Programming
DeVry's Game and Simulation Programming curriculum will prepare you for taking on various development roles in the game industry.
Game Art & Design Degree
Westwoods’s game art & design program will teach you everything you will need to know before you apply for a job in the game industry.

Video Game School 3 is a game that tells you about the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo, and their games. New: Each school has teams in sports for both systems, including fighting sports. Also, each school will be in tournaments in the sports.

In this game, you must go to school and learn about video games made for Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, or both. You can walk down the hallways in a 3-D environment school. You can play it on-line and take the real classes of the game with real classmates(users) and get in trouble with the adults and classmates.

You can choose between city, private, or county schools. The city school talks about all games, the private schools take about only a game series, like Mario High School and Sonic High School, and county schools talk about a genre of games, like Madden High School.

Each subject is similar to real life subjects. For example,

Social Studies: Learn about the history of video games.

Math: Learn how to make video games and combine video game ideas.

Science: Learn about what video games are made of.

Language: Learn how to comprehend what to do in a game.

Physical Education: Learn how to play video games with fast button combinations. Also, you can play sport games.

Lunch Time: Play video games you are learning about.

Electives
Music: Learn how to make music in video games.

Art: Learn how to draw sprites and animation in video games.

Computer: Learn about the machines and video game systems made for video games.

Library: It have lots of books, manuals, and codebooks on the video games you are learning about.

Each school has more electives, but different ones, like GameGenie class, Mortal Kombat class, and Final Fantasy class.

You can make friends on-line that will help you in the classes. You will take quizs, tests, and exams on video games.

All schools will compete in sports. Each school, except county schools, has 2 teams in baseball, basketball, soccer, fighting and football; the Super Nintendo team and Sega Genesis team. The Super Nintendo teams play their sports using Super Nintendo games, and the Sega Genesis teams play their games using Sega Genesis games. You must be the top players to play on the teams. You can come to the games, when they are schedule for free. New: There will be tournaments and seasons for the best school in each sport.

The schools will compete with other schools in a game, like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat.

9-12 is the levels of the game, but you can only unlock a level if you pass the exam from the previous level. You can't play the game if you don't pass the 8th grade exam at the beginning or have a save game of Video Game School 2: Jr. High that has the ending. If you pass the 12th grade level, you will graduate from video game school and be able to play Video Game School 4: 1st Year of College with a easy test about this game.

This is a game? As if High School wasn't bad enough, I have to go through it again! ;) ------ Actaully, I thought this was a really interesting idea, however I think it is somewhat poorly laid out. ------ The way you describe this game makes it sound as if it is more tedious than fun, and a lack of a plot forces gamers to wonder for what purpose they are playing the game. If we want information on gaming, the internet is at our fingertips. ------ I have several key questions that, if you can answer, will describe the game in a way that will allow gamers to understand it. ------ 1.) Who are you? Do you play as Mario? Link? Sonic? Or some freckly high school game geek? 2.) What will you learn in these courses? How will you make these courses fun, entertaining, or competitive? 3.) What is the purpose of your game? Are you simply trying to inform people about video games? Is this a mad plot for world domination? Will you take a final exam and the game will end? Or will all of the schooling eventually pay off in some sort of end project? ------ For example, for a final project you could use all of the game elements you have learned about to actually create a game worth playing. You could be given several templates of games to create for your final exam, such as fighting, RPG, first person, racing, sports. Then you would be given art tools to create characters, and back grounds, and finally a simple programming scheme so your characters can do what they want. ------ Creating an entire game would be far to tedious a project, but using the tools your game would provide, you could create a portion of the game, a battle scene, a simple small level, a single race track...

I agree that this game needs some kind of other plot to mix in as well as a final payoff. But I don't know if anyone else is thinking along these lines or not. If this were a truly compelling game with good games inserted into it and a worthwhile payoff, I think that it would help a lot of younger gamers to appreciate the earliest games and understand what kind of Renaisance(sp?) period we've finally come to in the video game world and where we all come from. I think it would help me stop getting weird looks when I go misty eyed fawning over my old coleco-vision and atari games.
